Lawrence-Andover Friends Meeting: Last Updated: March 08, 2009
The Lawrence-Andover Friends (Quaker) Meeting is a combination of Lawrence Monthly Meeting and the former Andover Preparative Meeting of the Society of Friends. Members and attenders meet weekly for the traditional silent worship at 2:00 PM on Sundays at the Forest Street Union Church in Methuen, Massachusetts. Directions are provided below. The Lawrence-Andover Friends Meeting is a member of the Salem Quarterly Meeting and New England Yearly Meeting of Friends. Quakers have actively sought peace and reconciliation among peoples and nations since the founding of the Society of Friends during the seventeenth century. They have been leaders in the anti-slavery movement, in efforts to eliminate war, and in the provision of relief to war-devastated lands. Other information about the Society of Friends can be found at the website of the New England Yearly Meeting, http://www.neym.org. More about Lawrence-Andover Friends Meeting can be obtained from the clerk of Lawrence-Andover Meeting.
